Going on campouts is an essential part of Boy Scouting. It allows boys to practice the things they’ve learned throughout the Scouting program. It builds character, patients, cooperation, planning and problem solving skills and independence. Troop 338 works very hard to plan and carry out at least one campout each and every month. Campout distances range from 15 minutes away to 5 hours away. Activities on campouts include hiking, geocaching, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, shooting skills, orienteering, canoeing, service projects, backpacking and miniature golfing.
